The Eric Wood Fund at the Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation
The Eric Wood Fund is a critically important resource for the patients and families that we serve at Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. Funds raised to support the new Eric Wood Fund at The Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation have an immediate, positive impact on the comfort and care of chronically ill children and their families. We are proud to partner with Eric to enhance vital services provided through the Family Resource Center, Child Life and Stone’s Buddies Program.
Eric knows firsthand the importance of Children’s Hospitals and the heavy burden carried by a family who must face the serious health issues of a child. Eric’s little brother Evan passed away at just 11 years old after complications from Cerebral Palsy. Everything Eric does in the community is done, with Evan - and his smile - on his mind and in his heart. Evan is the inspiration and Eric’s motivation...and The Eric Wood Fund is his legacy.
“Eric Wood is a leader in the Buffalo community and a source of strength and hope for the kids and families at Oishei Children’s Hospital," Allegra C. Jaros, the president of Oishei Children’s Hospital said. "He is a generous and compassionate individual whose support for Oishei Children’s Hospital through the Eric Wood Fund supports the complex needs of our chronically-ill children and their families.
"We’re grateful to Eric for his dedication to improve the lives of children throughout Western New York and we wish he and his family all the best."
Since his announcement, Wood has again been lauded for his work in the community during his time with the Bills.
Thanks to all of you for joining Eric to make a difference for children and their families at The John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.
